Tilda & Friends ATC Challenges - Glitter

This week the theme on Tilda & Friends ATC Challenges is "Glitter". I've coloured this older Tilda with Promarkers and paper pieced her dress with paper from Basic Grey Lemonade 6x6 paper pad. The background was made by masking the image and a sun shape off and brayering on dye inks, before adding glamour dust to the sea and some ribbon with coloured staples.

As usual the rest of the Design Team have some beauties for your inspiration so pop on over and take a look!!

CCT #72 - Tealy Good

Ooooh what a great theme this week from Cute Card Thursday - to use Red and Teal on your card. I really wasn't sure about this colour combo I have to say but WOW I lubs it!!

Tilda with Birdcage has bee coloured with Promarkers and I've used Basic Grey Urban Prairie papers with SU card. I got the sentiment ages ago as a little freebie from Sugar Nellie and stamped it with Teal Stazon. Flowers are from Orchid Crafts (thanks for the link Jacqui!).

Fabby DT cards this week so pop on over to CCT and check it out - you know you just have to!

Tilda & Friends ATC Challenges - Hey Presto!!

It's so long since I did any Design Team work so it's fabby to be joining in with this fabby theme this week for Tilda & Friends ATC Challenges, which is "Hey Presto" - that is turn your ATC into something else!! There's some stunning work from the rest of the DT so don't forget to pop on over and take a look.

I have had these metal lunch tins for ages and done nothing with them and as my ATC folder is overflowing thought I would actually use one of them to keep swaps in.

DP is MME Wild Asparagus and image is a Sugar Nellie Gorjuss Girl, coloured with Promarkers. I painted the chipboard letters with bronze acrylic paint and sprinkled them with glamour dust whilst the paint was still wet - they look really shimmery in real life. The big flower was made using Caz's idea and I've added ribbon and some gems to finish it off.

Older (but probably not wiser!)

Yes - today I am 38!! Not sure how I feel about that one, although there is no chance of hiding my age seeing as how Ben has been announcing it to the world for the last few days!!

Loads of lovely cards, pressies and birthday wishes - thanks everyone. I managed to conveniently "misplace the memory" that I'd already had the photographic studio as an early birthday pressie and DH bought me a Sony E-book Reader which is fabby - thanks my love :-)

I have nothing new to show just now but I have spent the last two nights tidying up my desk and am now clear and ready to create. Shocking how many new stamps and papers I have that I haven't even used yet - time to remedy that I think!! Hope to be back with Tilda & Friends ATC Challenges and CCT this week and maybe join in with some other challenges too. Plus I have my Christmas crafting box unpacked and am starting with those "C" word cards.

Manic!!

Well it's been a pretty busy wee while here. DH came home last Thursday night. We disappeared away to Glasgow for a few days and then decorated Ben's bedroom and built his new bed. Pretty much finished now apart from the fun thing - the twiddly bits!!

The room is on a sea/beach theme and I made this Life Buoy clock from a cheap MDF blank base from The Craft Barn. I have some little display shelves for his fossil and gemstone collection to alter into beach huts and other little bits and bobs so I will be kept busy when DH goes back to work on Monday!!

Wednesday, 15 July 2009

Well I'm back from my wanderings and now will be missing for two weeks again as DH has had his leave cut in half and I will be spending every spare moment with him and Ben.

Visiting

Away for a few days visiting family.

I'll leave you with this photo of our little "bit" (as they say here in Scotland). As you can see, the beautiful 15th Century church and graveyard dominates the landscape. Our house is on the far right of the picture.

Have a lovely week everyone.

Passion for Promarkers #6 - Moss & Poppy

The colour theme this week at Passion for Promarkers is Moss and Poppy" and has been set by Karyn - but there's a twist!! You need to include something "tasty" on your creation too!!

I got this giant peg from the Craft Barn and have attached magnets to the back so it will stick to my fridge. Sitting Alva from Magnolia Stamps is coloured in the Moss and Poppy "Christmas" colours to be my little helper as this is going to hold my Christmas "To Do" List (and yes sad as it may be - I really do have one and I really do start thinking about it round about now!!).

I've painted the peg with Red Pepper Adirondack Acrylic Dabber paint and used Basic Grey paper to cover the front. Alva is sitting on some velvet ribbon and I've made little beaded swirls with Memory Thread. A plate of cookies and a Christmas pudding are my "something tasty" and a little "To Do" sign finish it off.

I'm really enjoying entering these great challenges and creating something other than a card - which is what I used to do all the time before I got a bit side-tracked!! There's a fantastic £10 voucher for her online shop donated by Joanna Sheen to win this week too so pop on over and check out the challenge blog!!

Sugar Bowl Challenge 14 - Sketch by Judy

Fabby new sketch by Judy this time from The Sugar Bowl and I jumped at the chance to use this previously un-inked Sugar Nellie stamp "Stitch" by Leanne Ellis to decorate this 8x8 album to keep pictures of my sewing projects!! There's an extra request this month of "Sparkle" on your project - which wasn't hard!!

I started using VersaMagic chalk inks to decorate a chipboard panel which I'd previously given a key with gesso. I then stamped the image, allowed it to dry and triple embossed the panel with normal "Gloss" EP (not UTEE) to get extra shine. I then used two separate bits of calico fabric, left one plain and decorated the other one with the same chalk inks before sewing them together and fraying the edges a little. Then I used Adirondack Daubers to decorate the chipboard album front and more chalk inks on the SU Sage card, which I edged with a Fiskars punch. Some K&Co and Basic Grey papers are hiding in there too and the Paper Artsy tape measure twill ribbon is attached to more Calico stamped with swirls. Flowers are by FloraDoodles and I used a tape measure flat-backed button as the centrepiece.

Glitter flowers, some gems and a sparkly button add the extra sparkle!!

I so enjoyed creating this and feel back into my crafting again. I am having a play with a canvas and some beeswax just now so hope to have something else to share soon. Thanks for looking.

Passion for Promarkers #5 - Meadow Green & Lemon

Well this is the first challenge I have made anything for for absolutely AGES!! I haven't entered the Passion for Promarkers challenge before but the colour combo this week was just too yummy to miss!! I actually wondered if I would remember how to use the Promarkers as it's been that long, but I just about managed(!)

I have coloured Tilda with Butterfly's clothes and hat just with Meadow Green and Lemon Promarkers. I wanted to show that you can achieve shading effectively just with the same colour, albeit with a little patience as you really need to do your outlining twice before you shade.

DP is Basic Grey Lime Rickey, cardstock is from a DCWV Mat Stackand I've used SU Oval All punches and sentiment. Martha Stewart border punch and Prima Flowers finish her off.

Folded card

I made this card for my friend Billie's birthday from a template I found on Split Coast Stampers (sorry if this is yours - I didn't keep a note of your blog address). It was surprising easy to make and I think it looks really effective.

I used K&Co papers, Crafty Individuals images and a few different stamps and techniques to finish it off.

I have completely overhauled and organised my craft room (moving from one end to the other)and have some new storage. Hopefully now that's finished I may even do some creating again!!

Things are sorted with the Bank now but it was a terrible experience and we are still none the wiser how it happened!!

Missing again

Some absolute PIG has cloned my bank card and been on a spree - we don't know if it's from a transaction or whether they are in our computer or not so until we can get the computer blitzed I'll be offline.

CCT #64 - Quotations

A very quick one from me today. We had a wonderful holiday but I have an ear imbalance (vertigo) now and everything is rocking around!!

This week on Cute Card Thursday the challenge is to make a card with a quotation. This card was made using Kate Knight papers and Greetings Farm Geisha Anya. The quote comes from a sheet by My Mind's Eye.

Be back very soon I hope!!

CCT #63 - Nip and a Punch!!

I'm away on holiday now until Wednesday 10th June so I am scheduling this post. Still very distrustful of this - although I don't know why as it always seems to work!!

Anyhow this is my entry for this week's challenge on Cute Card Thursday, the theme of which is "A Nip and a Punch" - to use die cuts and/or punches on your card.

We have a fabby sponsor this week Short Cuts who generously supplied the DT with a pack of goodies to create this week's card with.

I decorated the Gift Card Holder with Tapestry rubber stamps using Versacolour chalk ink. I then used the acetate to make a card blank and adhered the gift card holder inside. Tilda as Dragonfly has been coloured with Promarkers and Glossy Accents. I used K&Co Cut N Paste Mat Pad to punch a border strip with a Fiskars punch and the same pad to punch the flowers and die cut the swirls. Sentiment is from Craftwork Cards, coloured with Versacolour ink pad and triple embossed. A few dabs of Liquid Pearls finish it off!!

Pop on over to the challenge blog to see what the rest of the Design Team made of their goodies!!

See you when I get back.
