Cute Card Thursday # 98 - Spots and Dots

OH MY GOODNESS did we ever have a bumper entry last week on Cute Card Thursday- over 400 entries!! Guess you all like flowers then ..........
......... so let's see how much you all like this week's challenge "Spots and Dots".
The DT have ROCKED this theme and we have another fabby sponsor and prize too so pop on over to the CCT blog and have a look-see.
Magnolia's Tilda has been coloured with Promarkers and I've used paper from Papermania Chatworth A4 paper pack and SU card, with Martha Stewart Doily Lace punch. Flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, sentiment is SU and ribbon is from the local florist. Bit of a panic actually as that was the last of it and I really hope they still have it in!!

Lip Gloss Holder

You know me - I liked to be organised so yes this does say "Happy Mother's Day"!!
I got this Lip Balm Gloss Holder template from Splitcoaststampers too and have had it a looooong time. I'm in the mood for making different things at the moment (you may have noticed) so it was time to dig it out. I know the lip gloss bottle is empty but I make my own and it doesn't keep the same as shop-bought so I am waiting until nearer Mother's Day to fill it up.
I've used the sketch from Spoonful of Sugar for the front cover and as the image is so large it also qualifies for Saturday Spotlight who want to see large items on your creations this week.
This cute bear is from Lilli of the Valley and is just so perfect for Mother's Day isn't it?!! I've coloured with Promarkers so am entering this into this week's challenge from Passion for Promarkers which is "All Creatures Great and Small".
Paper is from Basic Grey Two Scoops collections and card is SU. Sentiment is Elzybells. I've used a Magnolia Stamps swirl on the hearts. The two circles inside are from Stamps Away and SU.
I'm off food shopping tomorrow. Booooooooo!!
Post-it Note Holder

I am really loving having a good old root around Splitcoaststampers' Tutorials and found this fabby Post-it Note Holder yesterday. It's so easy to do and really effective.
I have used the sketch by Jeanette for Friday Sketchers for the lay-out, although I have moved my image from the centre to the right so I could fit the SU sentiment on.
I have coloured the gorgeous Penny Black hedgehog with Promarkers and used Glossy Accents on the hearts and balloon. Papers are from Forever Friends Pink Parfait paper pack. Card and ribbon is SU and the punches are Martha Stewart.
The theme this week from Penny Black Saturday is "Someone Special" and as I've got butterflies I realised it also qualifies for this week's challenge on Quixotic Challenges.
Thanks for looking - I'm off upstairs to see what else I can do with my Scor-Pal!!

3 in 1

I've been wanting to make one of these lovely gift box cards ever since I saw Rach do the tutorial on the Whiff of Joy Inspirations Blog. It's so easy to follow and is a really great project.
The image is from a totally new line by my old blogging friend Nicola (My Paper World) and it's the first of what I hope will be many digi-images under the line of Pretty in Ink. She just perfect for a get well wish or to send to a friend and is a dream to colour and cut out.
I have used Basic Grey Nook and Pantry papers and SU card with SU stamps and sentiments. Punches are SU and Martha Stewart.
I am entering this into three challenges 1) Spoonful of Sugar who has a freestyle theme this week 2) Stamp Something who theme is "Delicious" and 3) Pile it On whose theme is "Enough of Winter Colours".
Thanks for looking. The next person I know who gets a stinking cold is in for this little treat!!

Lady Marmalade

That's me this week!! I've been marmalading (and yes I know that's not a word!!) my heart out here and ended up with a lovely pile of filled jars - but if I NEVER see another Seville orange again it will be TOO SOON!!
Here's a couple of little gift boxes I made for Ben's teachers using the template in the new Magnolia Magazine - very quick and easy to do and quite effective I think!!
Bye for now.

Cute Card Thursday # 97 - Blooming Gorgeous!!

Yup it's Thursday again - which means another fabby challenge from Cute Card Thursday. This week we are sponsored by the amazing Wild Orchid Crafts and our theme is "Blooming Gorgeous". Oooooh I do lurrrrve flowers!!
Something about this beautiful Whiff of Joy stamp called out to me to use pencils so the Polychromos Pencils got a rare airing. The template for this card came from Splitcoaststampers. I've used paper from Basic Grey's Nook & Pantry paper pad and the lovely crochet flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. Sentiment is Magnolia Stamps.
You really want to see the loveliness the DT have created this week too so make sure you check out the challenge blog.

Passion for Promarkers #36 - Pastel Green & Blossom

The lovely girl is Demure from Sugar Nellie and she has been coloured with Promarkers and Ranger Inkssentials white pen. Sentiment is SU and flowers and leaves are Martha Stewart punches. Card Candy from Craftwork Cards finishes this card off. Lovely soft colours these - thanks to the PFP blog.

Daring Cardmakers - What's the Point?!!

I had to make a quick card last night to send away today and as I haven't used this Stampin' Up set yet I realised that I could enter the challenge this week from Daring Cardmakers which is to have a "pointer" on your card somewhere (an arrow, clockhand etc.) Everything except the ribbon is Stampin' Up. An unusual colour combination I will grant you - but my colour wheel told me 'twas good!!
Rushing off to take the wee fella to an appointment. Catch you later.

Friday Sketchers #86 & Penny Black Saturday - Something Sweet

Ooooh I seem to be in some sort of groove at the moment and am really enjoying creating again!!
This card was made with the really great sketch by Jacqueline on the Friday Sketchers challenge blog and is also for this week's challenge from Penny Black Saturday which is "Something Sweet". I think this sentiment by Penny Black fits the bill and I've used Tilda with Lollipop by Magnolia Stamps. She's coloured with Promarkers and Glossy Accents. I don't know where the dotty paper was from as it didn't have a name on it and I've had it years!! The card is SU and Bazzill. Flowers are Petaloo, brads are Karen Foster and four Card Candies from Craftwork Cards finish it off.
Thanks for looking.

Splitcoaststampers Sugar Nellie Forum Sketch #1

Over on the Splitcoaststampers Sugar Nellie Forum Zoe set us a sketch by Tiets to play with. Ooooh it was a tricky one but I love a challenge and gave it a go. Turns out I really enjoyed it!!
Papers are from Daisy Bucket "Little Black Dress" collection and card is Bazzill. This lovely Sugar Nellie cutie has been coloured with Promarkers and Glossy Accents and the bloom was made with a punched flower, Prima flowers and ribbon from my stash.
After I had made the card last night I noticed that it also fits in with the theme this week from A Spoon Full of Sugar which is "Lots of Layering". Well, it definitely has that all right!!
Thanks Zoe and Tiets for this challenging and enjoyable sketch.

CCT #96 - Fairy Fantastic

Happy Thursday!! The theme this week from Cute Card Thursday is "Fairy Fantastic".
I have coloured this beautiful Sugar Nellie image with Promarkers and Sakura clear gel pen. The paper is from a new Seven Gypsies paper pad and it is so gorgeous I felt it didn't need much so I used some paper roses and punched leaves with a little home made butterfly.
Well the DT have done some stunners again this week and we've got another fabby sponsor so please check out the blog for details and inspiration!!

Passion for Promarkers #35 - Any Colours & Girls, girls, girls

I actually made something else this week - YEY!! I am getting back into going up to my desk in the evenings again after having DH home for 12 weeks and am starting to enjoy myself again.
The theme this week on Passion for Promarkers is Girls, Girls, Girls and you can use any colours. This gift bag holds some homemade Swarovski jewellery and is a pressie for a very special girlie (who I hope doesn't read this!!). The bag was made using this yummy Crate paper and I have coloured this CC Designs cutie with Promarkers and a clear Sakura Gel pen. I've used SU Ribbon and an SU sentiment on the tag. A couple of punched flowers and a charm finish her off.

Gothic Arches - Birthstones
.jpg)
.jpg)
YEY - I made something and it's not Thursday!!
I love the challenges at Gothic Arches and really am going to make time to join in more. This week the theme is "Birthstones". My birthday is August and my birthstone is Peridot, which is a lovely vivid green. I had this Gemstones cardstock and it fit the bill perfectly. I made the inside panel with alcohol inks and some more of the cardstock.
