Cute Card Thursday #45 - Valentine

Seeing as how we only have a couple of weeks left now to get our Valentine's Day stuff sorted this is the theme this week on Cute Card Thursday. I only have 4 days left as DH goes back to work on Monday. I do keep reminding him that he'd better buy MY card before he goes away but apart from actually making or buying my own there's not a lot else I can do!!

It's so hard not going over the top on men's cards! I want ribbon, I want sparkle and all the usual suspects!!

I bought this cutie High Hopes character and the matching sentiment in the sale from Silly Monkeys specifically with Valentine's Day in mind - aren't they fabby?!! I have coloured my heart-stealing pal with Promarkers and filled in the heart with Diamond Glaze. Sentiment was stamped in Black Stazon on thick card coloured with dye ink and then triple embossed with gloss EP. Paper and card is from an old DCWV Mat Stack that I have just re-discovered. Sanded Core'dinations card, some Dovecraft Brads and Craftwork Cards Card Candy finish it off.

Tilda & Friends ATC Challenges - No Designer Paper

Well I would say I am just about there now health-wise. I am still pretty tired but don't feel ill now and my cough has subsided pretty much into the background now.

Talking of backgrounds (see that link - seamless!) - this week on Tilda & Friends ATC Challenges we want to see your home-made backgrounds as no Designer Paper is allowed!

Sitting Alva and Large Daisy by Magnolia Stamps have been coloured with Promarkers and Ranger white pen. The green card is Bazzill and I used a Cuttlebug border embossing folder on some SU card to make the edge. The sentiment is Stamps Away and is stamped in Rust Brilliance.

This is the lovely Anesha's last week and we are welcoming a new Guest Designer next week over on the challenge blog so pop on over to say "au revoir" and "bonjour" (and see the DT's ATCs!).

Rainbow Lady #43 - Fashion

As I was up most of last night anyway I decided to make a card for this week's theme of "Fashion" on Rainbow Lady's Challenge Blog. A previously un-inked Whipper Snapper stamp watercoloured with SU pens and touched up with Polychromos pencils. Card is SU, feathers were from Hobbycraft and ribbon from Scrapz. A Glitter Girls sentiment and Swarovski crystals finish it off. The photo is the first taken in the miniature photographic studio I got from Amazon and does show the true colours really well but I need more practice to get the lighting just right.

After feeling so much better yesterday I feel I am back to square one AGAIN today. I had been warned by a few people that this virus does this but it doesn't make it any better when I feel so rotten! Wallowing in self-pity here!!

Penny Black Saturday #31 - Pink & Brown

Again another card I made earlier in the week but as it's Friday I'd better get this on!

Feeling a bit better and have super-strength cough suppressant from the Dr this morning so I do have high hopes of a good night's sleep tonight!!

This gorgeous little PB doggy has been coloured with Promarkers and Sakura clear glaze with a sprinkle of Glamour Dust on the rose. Paper is from Basic Grey Bittersweet 6x6 paper pad. Flowers are Prima and Poppycrafts. Sentiment is from Craftwork Cards' sale which I have coloured with ink and then put peel-off sentiment and rose over the top and coloured the rose with Sakura Souffle pen. Card Candy, again from from Craftwork Cards, finishes it off.

Cute Card Thursday # 43 - Have a Giggle

This week on Cute Card Thursday we want you to have a laugh and a giggle and create a humorous card! This is "Ethel" and this wonderful lady and the sentiment are from Creative Expressions "Murray & Ethel Set 2". These sheets are just packed with really funny images and sentiments and she was just perfect for this challenge.

I have coloured her with Promarkers and Sakura Gel pens. Paper is K&Co Wild Saffron, card is SU and flowers from Scrapfairies and Prima.

Back to square one here - I was awake until 5am last night so typing this with bleary eyes and a sore throat.

Rainbow Lady #42 - Green & Black

See - here we go again!! I made this last THURSDAY and of course tomorrow will be a new challenge from Rainbow Lady's Challenge Blog so I need to post this NOW!!

Dee Gruenig "Green" ink pad brayered onto glossy card over-stamped with Whispers Tree stamp and mounted onto light then dark green card and then black.

Cuttlebug Challenge #14 & Stamp Something - NOT!

Well I actually made this card for last week's Cuttlebug Challenge which was "All White" and of course I have missed this but fortunately this week's theme is "Favourite Folder" and Swiss Dots is my all time favourite so I'm still entering it!! Also over on the Stamp Something blog they have a challenge NOT to stamp anything so this fits the bill nicely.

Honestly - I really don't know what day it is, although I HAVE managed to stay out of bed all day today so things really are improving!!

Tilda & Friends ATC Challenges - Something Sticky!

OMG how is it Wednesday already??!! The last few days have passed in a blur of being in bed, coughing, sleeping, getting up, going back to bed etc. and I have so lost track of time. Anyhow I managed five hours of uninterrupted sleep last night without coughing so think I may be on the mend - hurrah! Thanks for all your good wishes - they mean a lot.

This week on Tilda & Friends ATC Challenges the theme is "Something Sticky" which can be a peel-off or sticker etc. Pop on over to see what lovlies the DT and our Guest Anesha have come up with.

I have used New Year's Tilda coloured with Promarkers and the DP is from Basic Grey Euphoria 6cx6 paper pad, cut with a Fiskars border punch. An Anita's sticky ribbon, crochet flower from Poppycrafts, some pink Karen Foster Scrap Floss and magazine freebie sentiment finish her off.

I'm not well - AGAIN!

Well having that throat infection has opened me up for all the little germs to come and have a party in my body. I have a "virus" that's going around. Cough, cough, cough, cough and feel wiped out. In bed most of the time and feel dreadful. It's not fair!!

Be back very soon I hope. Keep well everyone.

Cute Card Thursday #42 - Something New

Well - who DIDN'T get (or buy themselves) something new over Christmas? Exactly!! That's why we want to see your new stash this week on Cute Card Thursday!!

This stamp is from Joanna Sheen's Messy Rabbit collection and as I had a gardening mad friend to make a special card for it was just perfect! I have coloured him with Promarkers and Sakura pens. The background is just a little blue ink on plain card over-inked with white "clouds". Paper is from Basic Grey Offbeat and Boxer 6x6 paper pads. Punch is Stampin Up and the button was off an old coat!!

We have a beautiful stamp this week to give away to one lucky entrant so don't forget to pop on over to the blog for details and to see the DT's wonderful creations (and have a nosey at their new stash too!).

Tilda & Friends ATC Challenges - New Year, New Stuff!

It's great to be getting back to the DT stuff again and the first of the year is Tilda & Friends ATC Challenges. This week our theme is "New Stuff" - an ideal opportunity to play with your crafty presents and try out those new stamps, pens or papers! We have Anesha joining the Design Team throughout January and we will have another call for a February guest designer in a couple of weeks time. Also you can now use all different kinds of craft on your ATC, not just stamping, so downloads, printed decoupage and anything goes!!

This is Tilda with Tag from the Magnolia New Year collection. I have coloured with Promarkers and sakura pens and stamped part of a little SeeD sentiment stamp on the tag - boy that tag is tiny!! The papers are from the Basic Grey Ambrosia 6x6 paper pad. Some velvet ribbon and a couple of Swarovski gems finish it off.

Combining Challenges Again!

It always feels like cheating a bit but really I just made this card for the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog whose challenge this week is to sand your embossing, BUT when I saw the themes this week from both Rainbow Lady's Challenge Blog and Stamp Something were to use something new on your card, then I'm afraid I just had to combine the challenges!! My Stamposaurus elephant stamp and the Basic Grey Boxer backing paper plus the leaf vine and corner dies are new so you can see why I gave into temptation!

The image has been coloured with Promarkers and Sakura pens and I have used a scalloped square Nestie to cut it out. I have used Cor'dinations Black Magic card through the embossing folder and sanded it to show the pink core and also used the Cuttlebug for the vine swirls and corners.Whatever did we do without our die-cutting machines?!!

I now have caught up and we are back to "normal" tomorrow (whatever that is)!!

The Sugar Bowl Challenge #1 - Sketch by Tiets

Ooooooh isn't it exciting??!! All us Sugar Nellie lovers now have a new home and Tiets has provided a fabby sketch for the first challenge over at The Sugar Bowl. I have used this beautiful stamp by Sugar Nellie, designed by Elizabeth Bell, Sweet Art Ebony "Daisy". I have coloured her with Promakers and Sakura Souffle pens. The background papers are by Basic Grey and are a mixture of Eva and Urban Praerie from 6x6 paper pads. The vanilla card I stamped with Magnolia Stamp New Year's Swirl in red pigment ink and added a few tiny hearts here and there. Sentiment is by Joanna Sheen and a ribbon from Scrapz, ribbon slider from Maya Road plus a couple of Swarovski gems finish it off.

If you haven't checked the blog out and you are a fan of the House of Sugar be sure to pop on over as they have all sorts going on there, not just challenges. There's also a different challenge running set by Marlene to make paper beads which I am going to have a go at later!!
