Rainbow Lady Challenge #25 - Spots & Stripes & DCM - Summer Foods

This week Rachel at Daring Cardmakers has called the challenge "Scrumdiddlyumptious" and wants to see the foods that we associate with summer and sunny days. Cynthia has set a theme of "Spots and Stripes" on Rainbow Lady's Challenge Blog and you are to include the words SMILE and/or BE HAPPY on your creation too!

The papers are K&Co Sparkly Sweet and I used a freebie magazine stamp with some Fantasy Fibres to make the strawberry embellishment. The sentiment is part of a Hero Arts stamp which I masked off to get the word "Smile" in Fuchsia Pink Stazon. I totally loves using the Fantasy Fibre again - it's something I haven't played with for AGES and I had forgotten how easy it is and how much fun. Thanks for looking. Lol

Penny Black Saturday #9 - Sketch

It's sketch time this week from Penny Black Saturday Challenge. I have to confess to forgetting I had this stamp {*shame*}! Penny Black "Light the Night" has been coloured with Polychromos Pencils and Sansodor and I added Prisma glitter to her curls and on her dress, stole and bag. The sentiment is by Art Impressions and I have done lots of matting before putting the whole lot onto pastel rainbow paper. Flowers are Scrap Fairies and Prima, brads Dovecraft and gems Swarkovski. Thanks for looking.

Friday Sketchers #14 & Stamp Something Pink, Green & Blue

It's the turn of Beatrix from Germany to set the sketch this week from Friday Sketchers. I have used this cute Sugar Nellie stamp coloured with Promarkers, matted onto blue card, green glitter card and pink thick handmade card. The background paper is from K&Co Classic K Brenda Walton 12x12 paper pad and the ribbon is from Hobbycraft. Flowers are a mixture of Prima and Scrap Fairies and gems are Swarovski. With this colour scheme Maggie fits right into the theme of "Pink, Green & Blue" this week from Stamp Something too!

We are due what the weatherman called a "deluge" tomorrow here in the UK - nearly an inch of rain in 2 hours is forecast with very high winds so everyone keep safe. Lol

Stamp with Sarah Kay #6 #- Sketch

It's a sketch by Betty this week from Stamp with Sarah Kay. I am making nothing but 6x6 inch square cards at the moment. Does anyone else do this? I seem to make the same size and shaped cards for ages and nothing but!

Anyway I have used K&Co Wild Saffron double sided paper pad which I am so in love with at the moment! I have coloured the beautiful Sarah Kay stamp with Promarkers and used Stampin' Up card and flowers by Scrap Fairies. The ribbon was from Hobbycraft and brad is Papermania. Thanks for looking. Lol

Cute Card Thursday #22 - Just the Two of Us

The theme this week from Cute Card Thursday is "Just the Two of Us". How many of you are humming the song now? Unfortunately I seem to be stuck with the Dr. Evil and Mini Me version. Shows what goes on in MY head!

This gorgeous Rachelle Anne Millar stamp has been coloured with Promarkers and I have used Basic Grey Motifica papers and some embossed card for the background. The gorgeous crocheted flower was sent to me with a few others in my birthday card by the fabby Jacqui. Thanks babes I love them! I got the ribbon from Ribbon Oasis a while ago and the butterfly sentiment has been coloured with Olive Brilliance and is from Craftwork Cards. Zoomz from Stamp Galaxy.

Still humming that tune? Me too!! Lol

Tilda & Friends ATC Challenges - August Seasons Theme

We have a guest designer Vannessa this month on Tilda & Friends ATC Challenges and as Vanessa made some beautiful "Seasons" ATCs (and as we are all in the midst of holidays and not able to craft every week) we thought it would be a fabulous theme for the next four weeks of August. That means you have 4 weeks to make 4 ATCs, one for Spring, one for Summer, one for Autumn and one for Winter. You can leave us a message at any time during the month on the challenge blog so we can come and see your creations, but remember to include at least one Magnolia image on each ATC.

This is "Spring". Tilda's sheep has been coloured with grey Promarkers and white fun flock. She has an abundance of flowers to eat and a butterfly to keep her company!

I do hope you will take this opportunity to create a series of ATCs with us this month and keep checking the blog as we will be updating the DT's creations every week too! Lol

A Spoonful of Sugar #11 - Recycle

This week the ladies from A Spoonful of Sugar have challenged us to "Recycle". I couldn't believe it when I saw the theme as only this afternoon I sat and took these gems off an old t-shirt that had lost too many of them to look anywhere near wearable anymore! Bish bash bosh - recycling!

This is Sweet n Sassy - a gorgeous Sugar Nellie Elizabeth Bell stamp. I have coloured in with Promarkers, Sakura Souffle pens and Ranger White pen for accents. Backing paper is K&Co and the pearlescent embossed card are from my scrap box (more recyling!). Sentiment from Craftwork Cards, flowers from Scrap Fairies, butterfly from local florist and ribbon from Woolworths. Still loving these Promarkers! Thanks for looking. Lol

Gothic Arches - Shades of White

The theme "Shades of White" this week on Gothic Arches is set by the very talented Hermine Koster. If you are not familiar with Hermine's amazing work, I highly recommend you check her out!

I got the paper texture paste out and mixed it with white acrylic, layered up tissue paper and lace and finished with a bouquet and ribbon. The image is from Google images. I have to confess I got married in ivory as I am too pale for white! Thanks for looking

Penny Black Saturday #8 - NO PINK!!

Waddya mean NO PINK!!??? Another panic at first from the challenge at Penny Black Saturday. Again I say OMG NO PINK?? Then I remembered that not that long ago I hardly used pink in my cards at all and used to love brown and cream tones. Of course since the addiction that is Tilda (and all the other stamps that this "cuteness" led onto) pink is a bit of staple colour these days!

This gorgeous Penny Black stamp has been coloured with Promarkers (are you fed up with them yet?). It's the first time I've had a cream colour (Vanilla) that actually showed up - let alone that I've been able to shade with. Fabulicious! The paper is K&Co Wild Saffron and the sentiment is Penny Back too.

It's my 37th birthday today!!! OMG how did THAT happen?? I've been completely overwhelmed by all the beautiful handmade cards and well wishes I have received. I will get around to photographing and displaying them probably tomorrow. Much love

Stamp Something - Thank You Somethings Challenge

The theme this week from Stamp Something is "Thank You Somethings" so I have made this card using this most beautiful Sugar Nellie stamp and my favourite (I think) by the fabby and talented Elisabeth Bell. I have had lots of positive comments and e-mails about the jungle card below so I have used my Promarkers again, sticking to the pastels this time.

The sentiment is from Cuddly Buddly and flowers from Mad About Cards. Background paper is Basic Grey Perhaps and the card is from DCWV Pastels Matt Stack, which is a textured pad and really yummy! Thanks for looking. Lol

Friday Sketchers #13, Rainbow Lady #24 & Spoonful of Sugar #10

Combining challenges here again. This week at Friday Sketchers it's Kimmie from Canada's turn to set the sketch - and it's really fabby as usual! I have used these brilliant High Hopes stamps to fall in with the theme from A Spoonful of Sugar which is "Animal Magic" and Cynthia from Rainbow Lady's Challenge Blog wants you to use Swirls and Flourishes, which this lovely paper from the K&Co 12x12 Wild Saffron pad certainly has in abundance.

This is the first card I have made using my new Promarkers and am pleasantly surprised at how easy they are to use. It will take a while before I am completely happy with the results but the shading on the foliage in the background was just so easy to do with the markers and I am especially pleased with the effect on the "wooden" sentiment. Let me know what you think - I really want pointers please from all you alcohol marker experts. Thanks for looking. Lol

Stamp With Sarah Kay #5

A great sketch this week from Stamp with Sarah Kay.

This stamp has been water-coloured with Distress Inks. I have had the fabric style background card so long I cannot remember where I got it from! All other card is Stampin' Up and the ribbon and ribbon roses are from my local haberdashery shop. I really cannot recommend these shops more as a source of amazing crafting products. Trouble is it's always an expensive trip! Thanks for looking. Lol

Cute Card Thursday #21 - In the House

This week on Cute Card Thursday the theme is "In the House". This can mean anything you would find in a house or wear in a house. I have used Magnolia stamps to create this scene (the table is the chair with the back chopped off!). The "wallpaper" is from K&Co Sparkly Sweet 6x6 paper pad, the gorgeous ribbon is from the prize I won from Penny Black Saturday and the Zoomz are from Stamp Galaxy. Thanks for looking. Lol

Tilda & Friends ATC Challenges - Beads

A nice easy one this week from Tilda & Friends ATC Challenges - beads.

This is Hawaiian Tilda and she's having a Luau! I used double sided sticky film and attached one side to acetate and covered the other side with Bedazzles in Electric Slide. Some brads, ribbon and beads on Memory Thread finish the ATC off. The sentiment is stamped in Ultramarine Stazon and says "Dance in the Sun". I don't know why I keep on using acetate - I HATE PHOTOGRAPHING IT!! Lol

Friday Sketchers #12 & Stamp with Sarah Kay #4

Another fabby sketch from Friday Sketchers - this week from Jacqueline. I am also trying the Stamp with Sarah Kay challenge for the first time this week and I only just made it! Their theme is to stamp a card with Dots, circles and coffee colours - ooooh my favourite!

This gorgeous Sarah Kay image was water-coloured with Distress Inks and lots of bits 'n' pieces added to finish it off!

I have had lots of really positive comments and e-mails about my Dahlia Fold card - thanks so much it really means a lot. You can find instructions on how to do this technique here. Lol
