Happy New Year

WOW it can't be January already?? I haven't had any mojo recently and have been really busy - as well as my crafty space isn't in my home at the moment and I am just not creating as much as I did as most of my previous crafty time was in the evenings.

To try and counteract some of this sloth I have joined Darcy's Artful Readers Group. We chose 12 books at the beginning of the year and commit to reading one a month, do a review and make something creative based on the book. As this combines my two of my three very favourite things, how could I let the opportunity pass by lol??!

They are to be books you have not read before. Here's my 12. These are not in any order, although I confess to having already already started A Game of Thrones as this is the set book for my Book Club this month (2 birds anyone??!!).

1. A Game of Thrones - George RR Martin
2. Robots and Empire - Isaac Asimov
3. Alive - Piers Paul Read
4. Lustrum - Robert Harris
5. Sepulchre - Kate Mosse
6. The Crimson Rooms - Katherine McMahon
7. To Kill a Mockingbird - Harper Lee
8. Lord of the Flies - William Golding
9. Around the World in 80 Days - Jules Verne
10. The Master and Margarita - Mikhail Bukgalov
11. Moby Dick - Herman Melville
12. The 39 Steps - John Buchan.

Hi Lynn

What a good idea... I was inspired by Game of Thrones to make Winter is Coming Yule cards for my pagan friends :-) There's some fabulous direwolves on folksy.

Loving your work!

What a great list! Bob talks about Moby Dick all the time but I have never read it! It was required reading when he was in school in the 60's...they'd moved on to other things in the 80's. LOL

What a list - some will be a challenge in a month - but perhaps you are a speed reader. I chickened out on long books, all except for one and that will challenge me in a month.
The crimson Rooms looks interesting, and perhaps I should read Azimov, it's a long time since I read one of his. I have to say I read Moby Dick many years ago,and found it rather deadly. So your review will be interesting. Looking forward to the artwork on all these.

I read To Kill a Mockingbird in school many years ago. I have recommended it to my girls but they haven't taken me up on it yet. We share Around the world in 80 days on our list interesting to see the different ways it inspires us. Looking forward to your reviews on the other books.
